This Journey is Shared—And We're Here to Walk It With You.
• About Brad & Leah
Healing Journey Counseling was born out of Brad’s own personal struggles with addiction and the resulting betrayal trauma Leah experienced. Having faced these challenges together in their marriage, they deeply understand the pain, confusion, and sense of loss that often accompanies such experiences. Their own journey of healing not only restored their relationship but also inspired a profound desire to help others who are facing similar struggles. This experience gives them a unique perspective, one rooted in empathy and real-world understanding, that allows them to connect with clients on a deeper level.
Through their personal journey, Brad and Leah developed Healing Journey Counseling and created the Sexual Integrity Ministry at Cottonwood Creek Church to offer others the support and tools they need to heal and grow. They created a space where individuals can find healing and couples can rebuild trust, foster emotional resilience, and cultivate healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Their approach combines their own lived experience with professional expertise, offering a holistic and compassionate pathway to recovery. Healing Journey Counseling is a testament to their passion for helping others overcome trauma and find hope for a brighter, more connected future.
Brad Ashley
LPC-A, CSAT Candidate
I specialize in helping men who struggle with unwanted sexual behavior and helping couples heal from relationship trauma, whether that trauma stems from challenges within a marriage or past experiences that have been brought into the relationship. Together, we can work to uncover the root causes of your struggles, whether it’s unaddressed emotional pain, unhealthy coping mechanisms, or the underlying beliefs that continue to drive your actions. While my specialty includes relationship trauma and men struggling with unwanted sexual behaviors, my clinical experience includes treatment of a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, and multiple compulsive/addictive behaviors.
I understand what it feels like to be stuck in cycles of shame and frustration, especially when it comes to struggling with sexual integrity. From the outside looking in, I had it all. A loving wife, beautiful family, successful career, I was living the dream…it seemed. However, what no one saw was the secret life I was living and the sin and shame that had me trapped. If you find yourself in a similar place—feeling trapped by behaviors that undermine your sense of self-worth, your relationships, or your life goals—I want you to know that there is hope. I have seen God’s redeeming work not only in my life but in the lives of countless men and couples that I have had the privilege to walk alongside.
In addition to running Healing Journey Counseling, my wife Leah and I run the Sexual Integrity and Betrayal Trauma Ministry at Cottonwood Creek Church. My educational background includes a BS in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. We have 2 beautiful children and love being anywhere outdoors.

Meet Brad
Through a personalized approach rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we will work to heal the deeper issues at the heart of your struggles. CBT helps identify and realign faulty beliefs that are holding you back, while EFT focuses on the primary emotions driving unhealthy behaviors and sabotaging your connection with others. My goal is to walk with you through this difficult journey of self-discovery, healing, and transformation. It’s not just about overcoming specific behaviors—it’s about reclaiming your identity and restoring your sense of purpose.
